Sharrie Simons, CPC

Sharrie Simons is currently a Medical Billing and Coding Instructor and a Medical Coder with over 15 years experience in the healthcare industry. Born and raised in South Carolina, she was exposed to both her career path and passion directly after high school. She is an honor graduate from Remington College with a Certificate in Medical Billing and Coding. 

She started her career in a call center working for 1-800-Medicare and worked her way up to instructing and offering consulting services to small medical practices. Ms. Sharrie worked in and became proficient in practice management, credentialing, contracting, accreditation, and more with expertise in multiple states, specialties, and insurance companies’ coverage policies. Over the years, she created meaningful liaisons with top insurance companies, implemented systems that reduced working hours by up to 50%, and trained personnel to become successful Medical Billers, Coders, and Office Administrators. 

Ms. Sharrie is a Certified Professional Coder (CPC), with the American Association of Professional Coders (AAPC) and serves as the Secretary for the Columbia, SC AAPC Chapter. She is a BLS Instructor, certified through American Heart Association and able to teach courses nationwide. 

Her goal in life is to inspire and educate individuals to be the best version of themselves while finding and living in their purpose.
